Every woman has her own symptom of pregnancy, and so may you. The most common sign of pregnancy is the missed period, and is especially a tell tale sign, if your periods have been regular up to now. However, your symptom of pregnancy may be different from this. It could be one of the many different symptoms that inform a woman that she is pregnant. Certain signs that may tell that you are pregnant could be confused with certain illnesses. A missed period, which usually is a very clear symptom of pregnancy, could also be caused by stress, some illness, or simply delayed period.
Different Pregnancy Symptoms
Many different symptoms can tell you that you are pregnant. Missed period being one, one other is the feeling of nausea - know as morning sickness. The feeling of nausea could come at any time of the day. It usually starts in the 7th week of pregnancy and may last till the 12th week. These two are the symptoms, which are very well known to all. Your early symptom of pregnancy could be that spotting caused by the implanting of the embryo to your uterine walls. It is a very light bleeding and is usually of light pink or brown in color.
Another symptom of pregnancy is the feeling of tenderness in your breasts. Your breasts may feel swollen, and could occur within a few days of conception. This sensitive feeling usually disappears after a few weeks. Many women feel very fatigued and listless throughout the day. You may mistaken it for normal exhaustion, and is caused by the changes in the levels of hormones. One of the first physical signs of pregnancy is the darkening of your areolas. |

You could also be urinating more frequently if you are pregnant. This could start around two weeks after you have conceived, and sometimes the urge to urinate may be there, without actually urinating. This could be because of the rising level of progesterone – a pregnancy hormone. You may feel that your taste in certain foods have changed when you are pregnant. This, too, is one of the signs. While you may develop a craving for certain types of food, other types may make you feel queasy.
Recording Your Experiences
You could record your experiences of the 40 weeks of pregnancy in a pregnancy journal. Many women do so as it helps them prepare mentally for the birth of their baby, just as they prepare physically by joining prenatal exercise classes. Some use a weekly pregnancy calendar to track the growth and development of their baby during pregnancy.
