Early Pregnancy Symptom – There Is More Than One

If you are looking for that one early pregnancy symptom you may be surprised to find that there is more than one symptom. Women who have been pregnant before may recognize some early pregnancy symptom from their earlier pregnancies, where as most can tell only after they have missed a period, or have undergone a pregnancy test. Some women just instinctively know that they are pregnant, and some who look for that early pregnancy symptom may consider some of the more common symptoms below.

Spotting Those Early Symptoms

Whether you planned for motherhood, or it just happened ‘accidentally,’ conception occurs about two weeks after your last period, and implantation in the uterus happens around 4 to 5 days after fertilization. Within 12 days of fertilization, the embryo firmly attaches itself to the walls of the uterus. The implantation stage is very critical as more than 75 percent of the failed pregnancies are due to improper implantation. This is why these early days are critical, and you need to take great care.

That early pregnancy symptom you are looking for could be any one of the many symptoms. The first pregnancy symptom you may notice could be a light spotting from the implantation. This is not heavy, and could be pinkish or brownish in color. You may observe this early symptom, along with some cramping.

Your body’s hormone level changes occur early in pregnancy. Your body’s reaction to such a change may include a feeling of tenderness in your breasts. They may also feel enlarged and fuller. This new feeling may disappear after some time, when your body gets used to the changes. Another early pregnancy symptom could be increase in urination. This could happen even before you miss a period, and it could actually be the first pregnancy symptom. This also occurs due to the change in hormone levels.

Fatigue is also a common symptom, but could be easily confused with the normal feeling of tiredness and exhaustion. This is also attributed to changes in hormone levels. The missed period, of course, is the most obvious early pregnancy symptom. However, you could miss a period for many other reasons, such as, some illness, and stress. In addition, hormone imbalance, and reactions to certain prescription drugs could also cause a missed period.

These symptoms may indicate that you are pregnant. However, the best way to confirm it is through a pregnancy test. Many women record and document their pregnancy symptoms in a pregnancy journal. This journal is a record of their journey through their pregnancy, starting from their early pregnancy symptom to the changes in their emotional and physical feelings, to their feeling of motherhood, to their dreams and aspirations for their child, among other things.
